Thanksgiving is more than a day...
We left our two blog readers last with mention of going to Jennifer's and Stephen for Thanksgiving...
But before leaving to visit, we enjoyed two catch-up days on Windy Hill.
The view over my coffee cup on that lovely Tuesday morning. Have I mentioned yet how much I love the blessing of a sunrise?
Be still my soul and know...
Thanksgiving was a perfect combination of food, fellowship and relaxation.
And a new tradition has been established.
J started pies on Wednesday night...and since will power is a finite resource - why waste it saying "No" to hot pun'kin pie still steaming from the oven (even if it is not yet Thanksgiving day)?
Jens had to work till noon on T-day, so we promised her that we would sit around looking glum and have a bad time till she got home...but once she got home the fun began!
Our gracious hosts...
We don't have a clothes washer in the 5th wheel (ordered, not yet delivered). So we took laundry to Jen's.
When we brought them in, Jennifer said something to the affect of...
"So this is what it feels like to have a washer when your kids don't". It is the circle of life!
Jennifer and Stephen live in a jewel of a house, which fits them well - an 1857 vintage place with undertones of rustic ADK cabin. Wood log beam ceiling, creaking floors, latch door handles and a big stone fireplace all combined into a cozy place they call home.
J & J burrowed into the couch.
And of course, the feast.
A bunch of great memories created. J & S with their first real Thanksgiving in their home, hot pie on Thanksgiving Eve, 'rents visiting the kids, warm fires and fellowship with people you love. And seeing both Jennifer and Stephen in a good spot in life...
What greater blessing could we ask for?
