Motive...

This post isn't really about Covid...well, it is, but not the typical "cover your ears so you can't hear, so you can then shout your opinion" kind of content.

It's safe for all to read no matter your perspective, whether you've exercised your free choice to get shot or not get shot.

In a way, my Mom's death was related to Covid, but that's for another post.  And I'm firsthand aware of other people that have had it...direct family members and friends.

So I am trying to evaluate the different sides of the Covid discussion, specifically regarding the vaccine.

Although I hate needles, my view from Windy Hill is that much of the shouting debate has nothing to do with getting a shot.

The root of the Covid debate is motive...

Let's go back in time just a wee bit.

Science vs. Religion has been a festering cold war for the last ~130 years.  Maybe Darwin's writings were the watershed event, or maybe it was the World's Fair of 1900.  From somewhere in that epoch (always wanted to use that word!) there has been a clear emergence of Science as a religion.

Science with its intense observations of nature, it's ability to offer increasingly precise parameters - the distance from earth to the Moon, the Sun, or even Polaris, the North Star, the increasing exactness in the measurement of the passing of time, the break down of matter into its atomic elements, and even into sub particles of energy - have all contributed to the rise and importance of Science over the 20th century.

To the point where it is often mentioned as a religion with dedicated believers, but maybe not yet with secret handshakes, eye winks or hooded indoctrination of devotees!

The discoveries attributed to Science have been wide ranging and too numerous to list.  Science has resulted in the saving of life with penicillin, the Smallpox vaccine, heart transplants, and development of Kubota Tractors.

And though with the best of intentions, some Science has also resulted in the destruction of life with the splitting of an atom or plastic micro-particles being found in newborn infants.

But for the most part, the historic trust placed in the pursuit of Science and scientific discoveries, and even scientists themselves has been largely merited.

The Scientific approach of establishing theories, and identifying hypotheses - then pursuing unbiased truths by following widely agreed experimentation and testing principles to prove or disprove, have all served Science well.

And so, for many, Science has in fact replaced traditional religion as the source of commonly accepted truth.

Science has become its own religion and many people "trust the Science".

Pause now and shift focus from the rise of Science to the downfall of religion.

The term "religion" is broad with many different meanings.

For this discussion "Religion" (with a capital R) is God's simple plan for a relationship with Man in the Biblical sense.

Where as, "religion" with a lower case "r" is Man's attempt to find a god, or even a group of gods to worship.  "religion" is Man's attempt to explain the world around him or to try and sooth his churning soul.  Subtle but important differences, so stay with me here.

In the beginning, the pure focus of Religion was for establishing a direct relationship between God and the individual Man.

Though over time, governments, politics and individual pursuit of selfish power have injected themselves into the equation.  Think Cardinals, state religions, approved speech, acceptable doctrine.

When that happens, pure Religion quickly devolves into a Godless and false religion - diluted and twisted, fake and unsatisfying.  It becomes all about man, nothing about God.

Look back throughout history and you'll find the pollution of Religion whenever the pure Man/God relationship is interrupted by selfish or political motives.  And attempts to leverage Religion in order to gain power and control over its believers always results in creation of false religions.

Selfish motive has always been causal to the downfall of a pure relationship between God and individual Man.

But eventually, realization of the selfish motives of the anointed religious leaders or state religion is made manifest...resulting in loss of trust for the whole.

And by their very nature, corrupt, false religions will ALWAYS die at some point.  Mankind is too aware, and the soul of man is too sensitive for it to not occur.

This mistrust of man made religion is why many today have no regard nor interest in a direct and personal God/Man relationship.

Think for a moment of how many different gods the Egyptians worshipped, even calling Pharaoh "God".  Now just the statues are left...

So pursuit by Pharaohs, Kings, Governments and false religious leaders throughout history to leverage their selfish motives, to gain power, all under the disguise of religion - in order to control and subject the masses, have all lead to their repeated downfall.

While the soul's need for a direct God/Man relationship has never changed, mixing in politics and selfish individual motives, is like mixing oil and water.  It is not sustainable and has proven catastrophic for both the power hungry politicos and the huddled masses.

Now shift back one more time to Science...

With Science as the now popular defacto religion, it enjoys a wide base of sincere disciples, it has its prominent anointed leaders, has its own principles, doctrines and "truths".

Yet the risks for Science as a religion are the same as any other false religion.

Once personal motive turns to selfish gain, power seeking, or control, the downfall is just a matter of time...

Fast forward to 2021 - to the Covid vaccine debate...to the purported benefits of the vaccine...to the Covid impact reports...to government mandates related to Covid...to Media coverage of Covid...even to the depth (or lack) of Covid investigative reporting...

The Covid "Science" has widespread government involvement, think Wolf, the use-to-be Cuomo and Pelosi and popular Science influencers, think Fauci, the CDC, the other Cuomo...

And as leaders of the current "Trust the Science" religion, their individual trustability and personal motives must be considered...

An always important metric for evaluation is to:

Follow the money to identify true motives...

This is a valid test for many transactions in life, critical decisions and even religious choices.

It's said Madame Currie gave penicillin to the World...free, without concern for selfish monitory gain.  The history of Science is full of similar examples of selfless pursuit of truth.

And the true litmus test for the current "Trust the Science" debate is for you, the individual, to conduct an unbiased evaluation of the personal motives for all involved.

What are the real underlying motives for those involved...

   What do they gain...

   What are their risks...

And is there money in play?

Think for yourself.  Establish in your own mind, whether the current Covid Science, its doctrines, its leaders, its mandates are all pure, without selfish motive or gain.

Do you honestly trust government?

Are the key decision makers making the best decisions possible for you personally - with your personal best interests at heart?

You must decide for yourself...do you truly trust their motives...

Can you "Trust Their Science"?

Let the adventure continue...
