Tecopa....(Flashback)

It was late February and sites for The Fox were expensive in the Valley of Death.

Thankfully there was Tecopa!

The RV park description was cryptic...something about 'bring your own water...'

Now The Fox can do that with her 88 gallon fresh water tank...big for an RV.

We could go more than 10 days self contained if needed.  Biggest use is showers.

Options are shower together, else shower separately taking military showers (water on to get wet, off while washing, back on to rinse).

So, considering the two options - we generally act like we're in the Army when not hooked up to a water line!

And that 88 gallon tank was a good thing...

You see, 'Tecopa' is an Indian word.

It means "tiny town built on hot springs with no fresh water".

Key words are "hot" and "springs"!

No fresh water to be had and the minerals in the ground water quickly desolve anything other than stainless steel.

Not much to look at...

But it has hot springs!!!

And that is the big draw.

The sign on the entrance listed 3 rules...

            1. No clothes in the hot pools

            2. Shower before entering the pools

            3. No cameras

            <- Women to the left

                 Men to the right ->

Hmmm...I've never done a hot springs before...but it said naked???!

There's something about first time adventures...

A dash of agitation...a bucket full of uncertainty...add some hesitancy...a cup of 'fear of the unknown' sprinkled in...and maybe add some natural inhibition just for good measure.

The recipe is what stops people from fully experiencing life.

Not talking about the idiot stuff - jumping off 90 foot cliffs...huffing gasoline...eating Tide pods...

But normal stuff...legal stuff - just previously untried stuff...

Fear is a terrible thing if it is baseless and unjustified.

Now, we don't have many pictures for this post.

             See Rule #3

But it was beyond amazing...bubbling out of the ground at 105 degrees...natural artesian springs constantly refilling the pool with gallons and gallons of mineral rich water - magnesium, sodium, calcium, iron, potassium, bentonite and relaxium.

It is the relaxium that makes Tecopa unique...

A 20 minute soak, 3 times a day...it was memorable!

Majestic mountain vistas, swift singing streams, sweeping valley views, tumbling water falls, wave washed beaches...and now add natural hot springs...

Listen closely...they are calling -

And you should go...

Let the adventure continue...
